Punny but Encouraging Card
A friend at work was having a rough day, and I’d stamped these images but hadn’t gotten around to coloring them. It seemed like fate! I love this stamp set from Darcie’s at the Stamp Scrap Art Show last October (which I loved – my first stamping expo ever!)
I used some watercolors and my water brush and quickly colored it in, and then pulled out some card stock and my Distress Inks and made the background. Its actually really simple and comes out really well.
Just take your Distress inks and press them onto a craft mat or piece of glass. Be careful not to mix your colors. I then spritz them with some water to make sure there’s plenty of moisture, and just swipe the cardstock through it, passing it through until all the ink is soaked up. Its really simple, but probably better to watch than read. I’ll try to get a YouTube tutorial up soon! You can let it air dry, or (if you’re impatient like me) you can use a heat gun and dry it. I used the foam blender and blended both colors along the spots on the edge where the card stock still showed through, and then spritzed the entire card with water again, blotting with a rag.
After that, I used a die and cut out around my stamping, used double sided adhesive tape to secure my background to the card blank, and then used some craft foam and adhesive to secure the stamping to the front. I left the inside blank to write my message.
What do you think?
